Sleep Is Your Superpower.
Sleep enriches our ability to learn, memorise and make logical decisions and choices.
Our armoury of the immune system is replenished during deep sleep, helping fight malignancy and preventing infection. Sleep allows the body to fine-tune the balance of insulin and circulating blood glucose. It has a huge regulatory impact on our appetite, helps the microbiome, cardiovascular and heart health. Sleep Scientist Matthew Walker describes how, throughout his extensive research, "there doesn't seem to be one major organ within the body or process in the brain that isn't optimally enhanced by sleep (and detrimentally impaired if we don't get enough)". Epidemiological studies reveal that the shorter your sleep, the shorter your life is. Short sleep predicts all-cause mortality. |

Inability to get comfortable at night is a main cause of poor sleep.
How do you know if Chiropractic can help you sleep better?
Do you...
Do you...
- have restlessness, find yourself tossing and turning at night?
- find you're unable to get comfortable in bed?
- wake up with pins and needles or numbness in your limbs?
- get headaches at night/in the mornings?
- get a build up of pain or aching in the low back, hips, neck etc?
- snore?
- wake up with a dry, sore mouth and throat?
The easiest, first place to start is by ensuring your head and spine are in an optimal position for relaxation and sleep.
To do this following the steps below...
As a quick, temporary measure take the thinnest pillow you have at home and stack layers of towels underneath it to create a firm base.
Start off with the stack of towels obviously too high for you so that you can try it, remove a layer, try it again, remove a layer etc until you find a 'sweet spot' where your head, neck and whole body feel really comfortable.
AS A RULE OF THUMB:
IF YOUR PILLOW IS TOO HIGH - You'll have a feeling/tendency of your body wanting to roll onto your back.
IF YOU PILLOW IS TOO LOW - Your shoulders are likely to feel slumped and rounded and have a feeling/tendency to roll onto your front.
