I use a technique that addresses the body as a whole structural unit.
THE AIM:
Is for us to work together, first relieve your discomfort, then for the longer-term restore ease of movement and function back to your body.
You can then get on with life without worrying about those old problems holding you back.
Most people notice an improvement in their breathing after their first appointment.
Your history of injuries and the current condition of your body will allow me to give you a good estimate of your progress over the weeks. A small percentage of people respond very quickly and the rest of us, our body takes time to heal the underlying cause of pain or discomfort.

- You are likely to feel freer and more flexible in your upper back and chest and/or low back at the end of your first session. It is also important to remember that how your body feels over the coming weeks depends on how you look after it in-between treatment sessions and the condition of your spine when you first start care.
- I will help your body unwind old physical injuries and postural habits which can be the cause of your current symptoms.
- As treatment progresses over the first few weeks it allows your body to release tension, this can happen quickly as people often say they have noticed a positive improvement in their body at the end of their first visit.

The process involves UNWINDING old injuries.

Unwinding is the journey your body goes through in order to return to being upright, supple and pain-free.
The aches, pains and stiff joints you have now are the result of physical things that have happened to you to date - postural habits, sports, hobbies and injuries etc all of which must go through the unwinding process to fully resolve.
Think of this as a stack of paperwork to work through. Each sheet of paper represents all of the knocks and scrapes your body has taken over the years.
How much you want to address and clear up is entirely your decision.
We begin with the top urgent sheets of work- i.e the current symptoms. Once these have gone you can choose whether you're ready to continue to work through the underlying structural problems which still exist in your body.

Most people report feeling improvement after 2-3 sessions and long term postural change occurs over 6-12 months depending on your history of physical injuries and working postures.
At the same time you might also notice minor aches and twinges in other areas of your body as you progress.
From day one your body begins the unwinding process. Following my advice and your health will improve quickly.
Many people are thrilled once their pain subsides, yet structurally we have only 'scratched the surface'.
This process will unearth old injuries for healing. We call it ‘going through an unwind’. Unwinds are confirmation that we are on track for addressing the underlying mechanical issues in your spine. You're unlikely to enjoy these times as they may remind you of a time when something hurt in your body. This will be explained in more relevant-to-you detail during your treatments.
How many sessions you will need is very individual and depends on your history of injuries.
When you stick closely to the posture and exercise advice I give you, you will notice continued improvement with each session.
For some people weight loss is a key factor for pain relief, I'll be here to help and encourage you at each step.

- Each session progresses the process of unlocking stiff joints.
- You will often notice an improvement in movement and/or pain levels at the end of each appointment.
- Periodically I will take before and after posture photographs to track your overall progress.

Initial Consultation includes:
- Discussing your current health concerns.
- A physical assessment (please wear comfortable, loose clothing).
- Treatment - provided that you and I are both happy to make a start.
- Posture photos to track your progress.
- We will discuss:
- What's wrong and the underlying reasons.
- What I can do to help you.
- A treatment plan, proactive steps you can take, and options available to you.
- Your body's healing and recovery time depends on the condition you start care in. This in turn depends on what injuries you've had, your working life, lifestyle including your diet, stress levels and your posture.
- All of the above give both of us a realistic view of how your body will respond to treatment and whether additional factors such as exercise, breathwork and nutrition are necessary to speed up your progress.
